| About Freshman Convocation | |
Q: What is Convocation? The annual freshman convocation welcomes freshmen and their families to the university community and promotes student success and the attainment of a degree. It also celebrates the achievements of the incoming freshman class. Q: When is Convocation? Sunday, August 23, 2009 at 4:00 P.M. at Popejoy Hall. The ceremony lasts one hour. |

| Participating in Convocation | |
Q: Who participates? All incoming freshmen, their families and guests, and faculty are invited to attend. Q: How do I participate? You can sign up to participate online by submitting the freshmen sign-up form. Q: Are tickets required for freshmen or guests? Tickets are not required of freshmen or their guests. However, seating in Popejoy Hall is limited and some guests will be directed to overflow seating. Q: Where do I and my guests sit? Freshmen and their guests will not be seated together. Freshmen will be directed to their seats in the center of the main auditorium by faculty marshals. Please advise any guests accompanying you that they may not be seated in the same venue. Q: What do I wear to the ceremony? You will wear your regular casual clothing. The free UNM T-shirts that will be distributed prior to the ceremony will need to be worn over your top/shirt. Q: Will there be a rehearsal? There will NOT be a rehearsal. | |
| Special Accommodations | |
Q: Who do I contact for special accommodations? Freshmen or guests with special needs should request appropriate accommodations when filling out the student signup form. Instructions will be mailed to the student as needed. |
